Great Hungarian Plain, „Puszta” tour

A tour to see the sunny “Puszta”, the common name for the Great Hungarian Plain. Puszta means a wilderness, a grassy kind of semi-desert. Originally inhabited by shepherds, cowherds and horsemen, it was used for extensive cattle breeding. We stop to visit Kecskemét, a typical agricultural town where you can get a vivid picture of 19th-century Hungarian architecture (for example the famous Secession-style town hall or the “Cifrapalota”, the Ornamented Palace). Then we go to a farm 20 minutes from Kecskemét, where you can get acquainted with Hungarian farm life and farm products, and get close to the animals in a very nice natural environment. We have lunch on the farm (a 3-course menu with wine), then watch an enjoyable and interesting horse show. Return to Budapest.
